2026 Membership Renewal

WHY DOES CHURCH MEMBERSHIP MATTER? The Bible teaches that it's only by belonging to a local church that we can live out our discipleship to Jesus -- with a commitment to one another as members of the body and a commitment to submit to local church pastors (1 Cor. 12:12-31; Heb. 13:7). Therefore, at The Crossing Church, we take church membership seriously.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MEMBER AT THE CROSSING CHURCH? To be a member of The Crossing Church means a commitment to Gather, Go, Grow, and Give; so that we may see God's kingdom come and will be done in Northeast Arkansas as it is in Heaven.

WHAT'S THE PURPOSE OF THE MEMBERSHIP FORM? As a church, we begin every new year by taking some time to refocus on what it means to be a member of The Crossing and renew our commitment to Gather (Heb. 10:24-25), Go (Matt. 28:18-20), Grow (Eph. 4:15), and Give (2 Cor. 9:6-8).

The goal of membership renewal is to help us have a plan and be intentional in living out the lives that God has called us to live -- nothing more, nothing less (1 Cor. 7:17).

GATHER

By faithfully gathering with our Crossing Community and at our weekly gathering for the purpose of submitting our hearts to the preaching of God's Word, singing in response to God's worth, celebrating the gospel in communion, and when so blessed, enjoying the beauty of baptism. Hebrews 10:24-25, Luke 24:1, Acts 20:7, 2 Timothy 4:1-5, Colossians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Acts 2:38.

We ask every participant to commit to be:
- Honest: We take off the mask and show up as we really are. We speak the truth in love,
talking to one another and not about the other.
- Humble: We admit we don’t have all the answers. We are willing to lean from everyone in
the group. We don’t let pride/ego get in the way of our relationship with God and
one another.
- Hospitable: We welcome each member of the group with joy. We go out of our way to let
other members of the group to know we are happy they are there.
- Helpful: We show up to serve, not be served. We pitch in as needed when it comes to the
family meal, childcare, cleanup, group missional opportunities, etc…
- Habitual: We are there more than we aren’t there. We know that deep and meaningful
relationships can never be forged through sporadic attendance, and therefore
make the meeting a priority. We choose commitment over convenience.

GO

By living our everyday lives with gospel intentionality as families of missionary servants who seek to make disciples who make disciples for the glory of God and the good of our city, country, and the nations. Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 8:4, 2 Timothy 2:10, Romans 10:1-4, Romans 10:14-17, Revelation 5:9, Acts 13:1-3.

Not only do we believe there is a biblical mandate to be on mission together with our church/Crossing Community, but in your everyday life, are you living as a missionary? Are you reaching your neighbors, coworkers, friends, or family through gospel conversations?

Our staff and pastors pray through these lists of names throughout the year that God would call them to salvation this year.

GROW

By being committed to your Crossing Community and DNA groups through the Word of the Gospel, the power of the Spirit, and dependent prayer. Acts 2:42-47, Ephesians 4:15, 2 Timothy 2:2, Galatians 5:13-15,22-26, Colossians 4:2, 1 John 3:14, Hebrews 3:12-14, Galatians 6:1-6, Matthew 18:15-20, 1 Corinthians 5:8-10, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, 1 Timothy 4:7, 15, Titus 2:11-14, Titus 3:4-8.

What are the names of the people in your DNA group? If you are not in a DNA group, are you committed to finding a couple of brothers or sisters to meet with regularly, for the sake of fighting your sin with the gospel?

GIVE

By cheerfully, generously, proportionately, sacrificially, and consistently giving our money, gifts, time and talents to the mission of God through this local church. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Matthew 25:14-30, Malachi 3:8, Matthew 6:21, Matthew 21:13, Luke 16:1-15, James 1:17, Galatians 6:6-7.

Please know our intention is not to delve too deeply into personal financial matters or create any pressure. Rather, it’s an opportunity to partner together in a spirit of generosity as we pursue the mission God has called us to as a church family.
We recognize that circumstances differ for every family, and your decision is one that should be made prayerfully and with wisdom. Our desire is simply to walk alongside you in faithfulness and transparency as we seek to glorify God with all He has entrusted to us. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to support you every step of the way!

The Biblical phrase "tithe" literally means a tenth. While Tithing does not earn our salvation, it does demonstrate a radical trust in the favor and goodness of God and is a strong message against the consumeristic lifestyle our world preaches. We also know that not all people are in a position to give 10% yet, working their way up to it as they gain control over their finances. And yet, there are some whose giving exceeds 10%.
